Camera equipment

 For the camera equipment we have invested in a tripod. This tripod is 58 inches and we think that it will help us out a lot because tripods help us with stability and helps us a lot with motion. We think by buying this tripod it will improve stability. It also helps us improve and capture long exposures. Tripods help us frame shots that a nor mal human will not be able to do.

Some of the scenes that we will using require a tripod for steady captures. By using camera equipment we will improve are scenes and our shot more and we will have an advantage. We are still trying to see what other equipment's to use in order to improve our shots and scenes.

Editing softwares/Target Audience

 For the editing part of the project we have came as a team and decided to try to use i movie if not find more editing software's online. The whole group has really good experience with i movie and we think that this is the best option because its better to be familiar with a software and be good with it rather than trying out a new software and begin to learn something new all over again. For some of the sound we will use Foley sounds witch all the group members will contribute to make the appropriate sounds for each of the scene but not all the sounds will be used with Foley. We will use i actual video and use a lot pf editing to make the scenes good with the right sound. 

 For the target audience for our project we have decided to go with 16-35 years old. We have came to the conclusion that what that age group finds interesting adults higher than 35 will not find as interesting. Action thriller is a really popular movie topic but not many adults above the age 35 will like it so we are for a medium lower target audience. 

Location scouting and Casting

We have been scouting around location to shoot our project for about two days. We know we will be shooting our project in some parts of our neiborhood because we all live in the same neiborhood in Weston. We have found some good spots where we can shoot some our ideas to see how it looks like in camera first. We still need to think of where else but for now since we have an idea of the first scene it will be shot in our neiborhood in a road. The first scene will ne a character running from something but we still don't know what he is running from.

For the casting since we still don't have an idea of what exactly we want to do for our project we think we are good with the members of our group since the idea that we want to make only has one main character in it. We still have to figure that out wand we need to figure that out as soon as possible because  time is running short.

                                                                                                                                                                           

group meetings/time management

We have decided as a group that we will do group meetings if its mandatory to come up with a specific art f a project. We will each think of different ideas and share them to each other as the ideas come to us. we see each other every day during school and we talk about the project every day we see each other. If we are missing something that we need o discuss at the moment, and its a big dal we will call a group meeting in person if not through face time or any platforms like zoom or teams. 

 We will follow the schedule that our teacher has planned for us. We think that that's the most efficient way to o the project in order to be on time and the most efficient in turning assignments in. This schedule is too make everything easier and to mange our time.

setting/plot

 For the setting of our project we are still thinking about where we are gonna film but we came up with the idea of our setting being dark. We got this inspiration from Ozark. As shown in Ozark the scenes are all in a blue tint as kind of a dark theme to it.

We need to come up with a plot first in order to come up with the setting. We want to film the setting in a dark place where we can go for the Ozark look and we can also add a tint or an editing technique. We want our opener to be very confusing and fast so hat the audience gets shocked and wonders what is happening.

technology or technical elements

 So far in our research for technology  or technical elements we have not really talked about it as a group yet. We have decide that we probably  should use a real camera for video quality wise rather  than our phones because  we think everyone else will be using their phones and we would like to shoot a good quality video with a proper camera. For the editing we will use i movie but we are not sure yet if we will use i movie or another  source of editing. 

For the editing we want to use a lot of editing techniques to establish our genre for our video. We still have to come as group and talk about the editing  techniques we want to use as a group. We have looked a films to see how their editing is and what the apropriate  sounds and shots have been used to really put a good video that corresponds to our genre so that the viewers understand the video and the genre that we picked as a group.

plot aspect

 For the plot aspect of our  portfolio project as I said in the recent blog post we are leaning towards thriller. Now that we have done further research we wanted to do action thriller now. We have don research on a all of of movies that are Action thriller. For example we reviewed all the taken movies and we have seen all the scenes and how they where shot in order to fulfill the action thriller aspect.

All the taken movies are good examples of what we want to do in our portfolio project. What we want in our project. We wanted the opening to start fast to how the audience off guard with that what all the action thriller movies have. We want to keep looking at different type of movies so that we get motivated and come up with more ideas to do for our portfolio project.

characters

 For the characters we have done research about what our characters will do on the specific genre we finally decide to do. We have done research on how to establish the character and what are characters rolls in thriller type genres and how they act and how they have to be developed. We also searched the types of scene and cam shots most thriller films use on their films. We also researched the different sound effects we can put once a character doe something or makes a action to make it more thriller.

My group and I have developed that we would need  main character in our thriller film. We need to do more research on how to establish the main character of our film since we need our film to come out thriller. we need to do more research on how to make the perfect character for our film and for our scenes.

Genre

For the genre our portfolio project we have been doing research for witch genre we like best and for what will be the easiest and the one that as a group will enjoy to make. We have deicide to cut out Horror immediately as one of our options. We think that Horror will be too hard and boring for us. We started research more movies in the genre that we are interested and we think we found the genre.

The genre that we have thought about as a group  will be thriller. We think we will be the most  entertained doing thriller because we each like every movie that's a thriller and we all personally know a lot about thriller. We did research such as searching up movies and seeing scenes from different movies to see how we will plan our project out and how we will film and do all the scenes to make it a thriller and entertaining for the audience.  

Music Marketing Blog Post #2

     I've had a good time doing this project. I also had an amazing group witch without my group my project wouldn't have been the same without them. We all came up width brilliant ideas thorough the process of creating the project. During our production we had d to come up with right angles, camera shots, and cameras movements that mad sense without song. We wanted each scene to correlate with the song and we wanted our scenes to flow smoothly thorough pour music video. We wanted to establish something that was eye catching and that would grab the audiences attention and that's why we picked the scenes and theme of our music videos because it was very eye catching to the audience.

    During the research that we had to come up with in our project we and to brainstorm marketing ideas because we created an artist from scratch  and we needed to market him in  professional way. We came up and made  a marketing campaign that led us to make a website, merch and we decided  to put shows and pop ups and social media's accounts. We had to come up with why we chose this type of marketing campaign and why it would be different to other artists that want to create a big name for themselves.

     During our presentation my group and I had to explain the presentation to the whole class on who is Axel Hayes (the artist that we came up with) and how we are going to promote him and make him big in the music industry. All the work we put into this project led up to this moment. We had to know exactly how to say and present our marketing campaign to the class so that the class  would be engaged and will understand the reasoning behind the whole project that we made. 

    What I've learned  by making this project is the fundamentals of doing a marketing campaign. A marketing campaign is not a easy as I though it was. I always though that people would just have to pick a way of distribution and just market you product or anything you want to market. By doing this project I've learned that there is so much more that juts marketing and picking a distribution place.  I've learned that budget comes a long way and in order to do a marketing campaign everything has to be very organized. The aspect of this project that will help me with the portfolio is definitely they shooting of the music video. I've learned so much about creating shots and cameras angles that correlate to each other and make sense. I feel like I've learned more about shooting specific scenes and mastering the movements and camera shots.
